If you're a club buying match socks, the standard range is almost certainly right. Don't pay for complexity you don't need.
Labs exists for everything the standard range can't build.
WHAT THE HIGHER MINIMUM IS ACTUALLY FOR
It isn't a margin decision. It's a setup decision.
Silicone grip needs a screen made, applied and cured. Setting that up for 24 pairs makes no sense for anyone.
Individually knitted toes run slower on the machine and need different tooling.
Illustrated jacquard shafts — a knitted landscape, a nordic motif repeat, a 360-degree scene — take real programming work before a single sock exists.
Merino and Coolmax come in minimum yarn quantities from the mill.
Open-toe, ballet cutouts and slipper cuts need finishing steps a standard tube sock doesn't.
Spread that setup across 24 pairs and the per-pair cost is absurd. Across 100, it's sensible. That's the whole reason for the number.

HOW TO DECIDE
Take the standard range if: you're a club or school, you need match or training kit, your design is a logo and colours, and 24–100 pairs is your real number.
Take Team Feet Labs if: you need grip, toe construction, merino, compression or a complex knitted graphic — or you're a brand, an event, a promotional distributor or running a licensed programme, where 100+ pairs is a normal run anyway.
The honest test: if the standard range can build what you want, use it. We'll tell you if it can.
MAKING 100 PAIRS WORK
If Labs is the right range but the number feels high, three things that help:
One style, more depth. A hundred pairs of one design is far easier to sell through than 100 spread across four.
Pre-sell it. Collect orders and payment first, produce to demand. Works for clubs, studios and brands alike.
Split the size run realistically. Don't order a flat 25/25/25/25. Get the actual curve for your audience — studio socks skew small, football skews large.
Bundle heights. One design across two heights is still two styles for the minimum, but it's one design process and one freight bill.
