If you're a summer-season club or an academy running through the warmer months, this is the ordering window. Six to ten weeks from logo to delivery, and the season is closer than it feels.
This is the practical companion to our basketball sock guide. That one covers what makes a good basketball sock. This one covers how to actually buy them.
RUN TWO SOCKS, NOT ONE
The single best decision a basketball club makes.
Game day: crew. The visible one. Full club design, cushioned, the look players want. Higher cost per pair, ordered in smaller numbers.
Training: quarter. Cheaper, cooler, less material, simpler design. Ordered deep, because these get worn three times a week and destroyed.
Running both off one design costs nothing extra in design work — same artwork, two heights, one order, one freight bill. And it stops your good socks being worn to training in October and looking tired by December.
THE THIRD PRODUCT
While you're at it, consider a supporter sock.
Basketball has an unusually engaged parent and supporter base, and socks are the merch item that actually sells — four sizes cover everyone, the price point is easy, and people buy multiples.
Same design, crew height, quieter colourway. Order it with the playing stock and sell it at home games. It's usually the difference between kit being a cost and kit paying for itself.
QUANTITIES
Where clubs get it wrong.
Per player:
2 pairs game day (one on, one in the wash)
3 pairs training
Total: 5 pairs per player
For a club of 40 players that's 200 pairs. Add:
15% overage for new registrations, losses and replacements
Coaching and support staff
Supporter stock, if you're doing it — 30–40% on top of the playing number
Our standard range starts at 24 pairs per style, so even a single academy squad clears the minimum comfortably.
THE SIZE SPLIT
Basketball has a wider size spread than almost any other sport — you're covering juniors and full-grown seniors in the same club.
Two rules:
Get real numbers. Collect shoe sizes at registration. Don't estimate.
Skew up for juniors. They grow mid-season, and a sock that's slightly big is far more usable than one that's slightly small.
Our sizes run XS (US M3-5 / W4-6), S (US M5-9 / W6-10), ML (US M9-12 / W10-13) and XL (US M12-14 / W13-15).
BUDGET AND WHAT DRIVES IT
Tell us your per-pair number early. We'd rather design to it than present something you can't approve.
What actually moves the price:
Factor
Effect
Height
Crew uses roughly twice the yarn of a quarter
Quantity
The single biggest lever. Price drops meaningfully with volume.
Decoration method
Direct knit is best value at volume
Colour count
More colours in the knit, more cost
Silicone grip
An extra process
Number of styles
Two heights off one design is cheap. Four designs is four projects.
The cheapest real saving is ordering everything at once. Splitting game and training kit into two orders three months apart costs you twice on freight and loses the volume break.

WHAT WE'LL ASK
Game day, training, or both?
How many players, and what's the size split?
What's your budget per pair?
When do you need them in hand?
Who signs off the design?
That last one saves more time than everything else combined.
START WITH YOUR LOGO
Send it through with your club colours and squad numbers. We'll mock up a crew and a quarter off the same design so you can see both in front of the committee at once.
Free designs, free revisions, and a pre-production sample before full production. 24-pair minimum on our standard range, with free shipping from 30 pairs.
